The Daily Beast has a great article, written by Christine Pelisek, about next steps in the identification process of the Dozier remains.  Pelisek also has some touching interviews with a survivor of Dozier and a relative of the one of the boys who died on the property.

Below are some highlights:

  • The USF Team has so far recovered the skeletal remains of two boys, between the ages of 10 and 13.  Those remains will be sent to Arthur Eisenberg and his team at the University of North Texas’s Center for Human Identification.
  • Eisenberg’s lab worked on high-profile cases including the Green River Killer and John Wayne Gacy.
  • Eisenberg and his team to find and extract DNA from the bones, and compare the DNA to the donated samples of living family members.
